Have you checked Ebay? Saw some seedlings and hybrids.

Try Santa Barbara Orchid Estate.

I used to live near them when they had a huge variety of cymbidiums for sale, but no joy this time.
Thanks for the suggestion, anyway.

They list it, but only as a name. Inquiry sent requesting availability.
Thanks for the tip. I'll let you know if it pans out.

Rogue sure has a lot of Stanhopeas!

If Rogue is a strike-out, it may be worth calling Andy's as well. He has a lot of Stans in the warm house that are not listed on the website.

Andy no doubt has Stan tigrina (actually, he grows it outside, it handles cool nights just fine) but not necessarily that particular cultivar. At one time Orchid Design had one that they sold to another member of the Board, but don't know if they have any more pieces of it. I have one (not big enough to share) that I got from a society member some time back... I am not sure that it was ever cloned... a vigorous grower, lots of divisions have been made. If there WERE clones made, I'd expect to find them at Santa Barbara Orchid Estate or Cal Orchid (nurseries that were personally close with the original owner who got the award) I know that there were selfings made. Since that was more than 25 years ago (1996, actually, I saw it when it was brought in for judging) that it was awarded, a lot of water has flowed under the bridge.

You're absolutely right- I read tigrina and disregarded the Predator part. It terrifies me that he grows many of these outdoors.. I know they do okay and everything.. just braver than I am....

I grow my Stans outside. Not as well as Andy - he waters more, has a perfect shady and very wet area. Santa Barbara Orchid Estate also grows quite a few Stanhopeas, all outside.
