Seeing how many dried inflorescences I see, I'd guess that it's all going to be vegetative growth. If the base of the P-bulb is showing signs of rot, which would explain all the new growths, I'd agree that cutting it off and laying it on it's side will give each growth more room to develop and make separating them later easier. If it looks healthy I would leave it as is.
Never seen one produce that many in one go. If all really are new growths, I'd guess it'll result in small plants that are going to skip blooming for a year.

Thanks everyone. Still keeping an eye on it, will keep you updated!

I don't believe there is any rot at the base causing this, two of the growths are at the base and the bulb sits pretty high.

If they are all growths I will probably pinch off all the top ones and leave the 2-3 bottom remaining. The bulb is probably 15" and would take up too much space laying down.

That is a lot! They look like growths to me.

I like the idea of pinching some off as well. I agree with SG that they would not grow enough to bloom. Who knows, it may even abort some on it's own.
