Going to be a spectacular show... SOON! (I hope that you don't have a vacation planned in the next couple of weeks... I have had that sad experience of being away at just the wrong time.)

Thanks everybody; will be in town when they open thankfully. Lining is paperbark. I purchased this one 3 years ago, and this is the first year it decided to bloom... making up for lost time

I'm somehow confused by the size and number of the flowers.

How the heck does the plant drink enough water to support so much growth?

It’s in a 12” wire basket filled with mostly sphagnum moss, so that’s a lot of water holding capacity

OMG I have the exact same plant as you! Yours is farther along that mine, mine is just starting to show buds, but I'm so excited! And mine is also potted in a 12 inch basket with mostly sphag (and a little rock wool, and just a little bark).

I bought it last year after the bloom season was already over, so I've never seen it bloom before and I am so excited! I can't wait to see yours when the flowers open!

And speaking of being gone at the wrong time, if not for COVID, I would have left for Brazil about a week ago and wouldn't have come back until August, so although I hate that I had to cancel my vacation, at least I have this to look forward to, that I would have missed otherwise.
