monnierara leaves turned yellow

hi, i got this monnierara millennium black magic in the mail from norman’s orchids. it looked perfect when i received it and then i put it on the same shelf where my cattleyas have been thriving. per the instructions in the package, i watered it the second day by bottom watering and letting it drain. the leaves developed these black spots and then turned all yellow.

i thought it was probably sunburn so i moved it to a shelf a bit further from the window. it hasn’t changed/gotten worse, and the new growth looks very happy.

i guess i just want reassurance that it’s not going to die???

These guys are deciduous and drop their leaves this time of year. There's no need to water that plant for at least the next two months.
