One of my two surviving seedlings from SVO this spring is completely mature but still green; the other has not matured the pseudobulb. I'm going to keep watering the non-mature one but cut back on the mature one. We have at least another month of good warm weather and I'm not sure I want to tempt them to make new growth now.

It’s amazing how few 100+ degree days my area used to average per year just a few decades ago. Now we get several months of 100+ degree days!! 🥵🥵

What was the problem with the dead ones?

SVO 8190 Cl. Rebecca Northen arrived looking sketchy, with yellowing leaves. It was a very small plant. I slipped it out of the pot to look at the roots and they had blackish tips. It slowly withered away, new growth then old growth. Fred agreed it was probably too hot in shipment.

The JH 38 (Cyc. warscewiczii 'Leo' AM/AOS x Cycd. Freckled Sweetheart 'Samantha' AM/AOS) and 8108 Ctsm. Karen Armstrong didn't turn a hair.

It was extremely hot weather. I arranged to be home the afternoon they delivered. The UPS guy delivered the package to some other house and wrote down an address that doesn't exist. I discovered that over an hour later checking the UPS site online. I had to go searching for it. It was fortunately visible from the street or I might never have found it. The people were not at home, and they have a door camera. So they have video of me taking a box from their front porch. The police haven't shown up at my house yet LOL.

Some of the Catts in the box had heat damage, too, but they recovered.

oh wow just watched the video. Don't know how representative of the rest of the collection those are, but that's surprising to me. I have a few plants that are already completely dormant.

hello. The video is very informative, thank you for that.

Meanwhile in Canada ... I’m still waiting for my Cycnodes Wine Delight buds to open/bloom...it's grown indoor, but it’s currently -7 c (real feel -17c brrrrr in Alberta) with snow on the ground since last week... I hope the blooms don’t die.
