Default Kiki???

This Catasetum just finished up flowering, off the new growth... looks like a Kiki growing off last yrs growth, has anyone ever experience this?? Should this be cause for concern??

I have seen keikis like that fairly often. (note spelling...) I don't think it is cause for any concern, and I would leave it alone, perhaps next spring when the plant is coming out of dormancy and it has good roots, it could be separated and potted up. But not this time of year.
