Default Autumn Catasetum Care

Late Season Catasetum Care- William Green and Stephen Van Kampen-Lewis - YouTube

Hey y'all! Today William Green and I looked at three of his Catasetums and discussed how to care for these plants as autumn approaches. When to stop watering and fertilizing? What if a plant is still green and growing late into the season? Do some Catasetums need to be coaxed into a dormant period? Join us as we discuss some of the details of Catasetum late season care.

Saw this the other day(My Green Pets) and answered lots of ques. and just what I needed. For me,reading doesn't always equate with my issues or culture and a "clinic" makes it sink in. Phew...glad I'm not the only one second guessing what I thought I knew. TY

Yeah! I got some good answers from this session Steve! Maybe Wine Delight was aborting spikes previous years because I was reducing water right as it was spiking. Also, I'm going to keep watering Fdk Desert Davison until it starts to drop leaves...and if it never drops leaves...well, ok!

I'm curious to see if your Desert Davison will end up keeping its leaves!

I'm also stoked for the walkeriana chat!

I kept watering and fertilizing right through my Wine Delight bloom (23 flowers, 2 spikes) and 3 weeks after those spikes dried up I now have another spike emerging.

Yes thank you! Another grower who had amazing results last year (@marissakoopman on IG) told me the same! I had previously thought that fall was time to reduce reduce reduce, but that turns out is not the case!
