Ctsm. fimbriatum 'Golden Horizon' x Ctsm. osculatum 'SVO'
SVO 7630
Super cool looking flowers on the first bloom from this SVO primary cross. The lip is frilly and neon green. The petals and sepals, shaped like a bird, are cream color with attractive burgundy spots.
Grew this one with the PET method so included a little root porn.

Well done. I must consider this PET thing for my few.

They absolutely thrive once they've grown roots into the reservoir. Plus, seeing the roots grow is a pleasure itself
My only PET mod for next year is to have a small layer of orchiata on top. The full strength fert soaked sphag under grow lights creates quite an algae farm

Ok, so I went into the grow room and overnight the plant became highly fragrant. Almost like a sweet tikka masala.
When I went in to smell the plant shot me! The middle of the lip flew off and stuck to my face! I demoed it in the video below (apologies for the unsightly cut on my finger). The adhesive is hard to get off! I haven't grown either parent species so I not sure where this trait came from

That video is awesome. It’s like a tube of toothpaste squirting like that

Observation: The flowers that I "triggered" yesterday are no longer fragrant and the ones that I left intact are still fragrant. The overall fragrance put out by the plant has been reduced by roughly the same % I triggered (50%)
