I forgot to comment on this one too Mook - which may be important. Look into issues with lightly-packed sphagnum.

I know that catasetum pro-growers (nursery growers) use relatively firmly packed. Not lightly packed. Lightly packed has a possible disadvantage associated with it when it comes to water mixing with lightly packed sphagnum.
