I nuke mine. Bayer 3-in-1 works well!
Also, spider mites hate humidity. Anyway to increase humidity? |

Thanks for the tip about Bayer 3-in-1, I have it in my garage. I think I'll use it on the affected plant. How much of travelers are spider mites? I think there is a decent chance its isolated to this one plant. I haven't seen any all winter on other plants after I cut the leaves and nuked the bulbs. I have quite a few further along than this one with perfect leaves. |
5% of alcohol in volume of solution. I use ethilic alcohol which is the most common around here. I believe in the USA the most comon is not this one~
Anyway, 5% is always a good percentage. :) About the catasetinae I really can't give you any advice as I have never grown any. ---------- Post added at 04:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:34 PM ---------- As Dolly said, imidacloprid is not effective to erradicate them. Regarding Bayer 3-in-1, mites develop resistance if you use always the same product. As in many other crops, it is always a good practice to switch between different products. But for mites, the best chemical option is a miticide which here are controlled substances (means you can't buy and apply them unless you are certified by the government to do that). |

Rbarata is correct about having the mites gaining resistance to one pesticide. If your infection goes beyond 3 applications, you might consider mixing in another pesticide. Mine typically disappear in a few applications. |
I've had good results with Azamax. It's organic so, I feel comfortable using it indoors.

One can kill them all and get them again just by opening a window (especially in dry weather). |
