Default Cycn ??

can they be mini?
I got two new orchids today. One is very much like the cycn wine delight, internet photo of same posted. The wine colored I have now is really tiny. Blooms size of the buttrefly clip for stake.

Shape and coloring very much like the above but the whole plant is in a two inch pot and at the most 18 to 24 inches tall, with white in center of bloom, a tiny lip with a dot of white in it. Deep wine color overall.

this is an Oncidium alliance intergeneric (there are many genera in the Oncidium alliance, and this is a hybrid of two or more of them). also, Cycnodes Wine Delight has much bigger flowers. very cute though!

ps: interesting how the lip is almost rectangular...

Full disclosure: I have never purchased anything from Repotme. I cannot vouch for their products. IMO they are expensive but who knows, their products/services may be superior.

Having said that they provide a basic ID section on their website. Covers the common alliances, fun to peruse.

Neo Thank you so much. I thought the leaves looked like my only other NoID that I bought last week. It was a mule ear leaf said Ray, and probably a hybrid of some Dancing lady except the nre on4'e leaf is much more narrow.

I am going to my local orchid guild in March, and there is a speaker there that owns an orchid shop nearby and specializes in Mini's.

I am going to add your info to my file, and make a tag for it tomorrow.

Early, w/o tags, we can't tell you cultivar names or tell you how big plants may get. However, from the size of the plants/pots, I think you need to assume you are buying young/small plants. So far you're in the oncidium alliance. These can become fairly large.
