Bulbo Blumei X Dentiferum - Spike or Growth
Default Bulbo Blumei X Dentiferum - Spike or Growth

Dear all,

I am quite new to bulbophyllums, only been growing them for about a year. They have acclimatized to the the conditions here in Singapore (tropical country along the equator) and spout out a few keikis a couple of months back.

As of now, the keikis have matured and seem to spout something. I am still unable to differentiate a spike and growth for bulbos. Can someone share what are the differences in a spike and growth? And tell me if mine is a growth or spike?

Please find the photo of my bulbo as attached. It is growing in a hanging basket and potted in a mixture of charcoal, coconut husk, leca, pine bark, and spag moss.

Are you sure they're keikis? I dont think bulbos make keikis... but I may be wrong.

It looks healthy but right now it is hard to tell the difference, but it looks like a new growth to me.
