Bulbophyllum cummingii blooming

Got this small, three-bulb division from my OS a few months ago. I can't believe it is blooming already. I've had two blooms, one each from the front bulbs. And I can see two new buds coming up now.

The bulbs are plump and the leaves look good. But I'm worried about such a small plant blooming so much.

Should I be? Should I clip the new bud spikes?

I think I've seen this bulbo before. I'll go looking.
I looked around and this reminds me of Bulbo. Brienianum and Bulbo. Makoyanum

I would not clip the spikes. The plant should be fine.

Very cool. I don't think I would worry about it blooming too much. Can that even happen?

Bulbopedilum -- Yeah I was thinking that too. I checked with the person who had it at the meeting and he says that is what it is. Looking at the two you suggested it does seem very close to Bulbo. makoyanum. In any event it is pretty cute! Thanks for the suggestions.

ES -- Yeah I guess I'm just too impatient. I want to get that rhizome going and get a bunch of bulbs, so then I can have several blooms going at once! I need to learn to enjoy what is here now.

Once you can see something on a plant, almost all the cell division is finished. All that remains is pumping it up with water. It's like a Thanksgiving Day parade balloon. The work is done before you even see them inflating it.

So you don't save the plant any trouble by cutting off spikes - unless the problem is inadequate roots that can't supply enough water to the plant.
