Default Bulbophyllum rothschildianum 'Red Chimney' FCC/AOS

Named for the banker family Rothschild, supporters of orchidology. Several members of the family owned famous orchid collections in the 19th century.
The original specimen was reportedly found in the Sikkim region of northeast India, “in the hills beyond Darjeeling.” No particulars are given about this orchid plant. However, Darjeeling is located at about 7000 ft. (2130 m).
Deep Rose Flower with darker markings, bright rose lip, petals and yellow-green dorsal sepal with speckling. The flower gently moves, wiggle and waver with the breeze. This is quite an ornate orchid flower with a slight scent of mushrooms. Pictures of these usually have five flowers just as the one that faded on the fifth picture, but I didn’t catch the bloom in time so all I have are the three flowers in this posting.
I give it the Baker culture for Bulbophyllum. I provide it with shaded light on the east facing window with temperature range (60-83°F) cold to warm. I water it every other day and on warmer days it stays evenly moist. I provide it with electric humidifier with a fan for circulation, yet I still get some fungi on some of the leaves. I stopped feeding it because it’s the colder months otherwise I give it fertilizer every other week.
