Came home from a 4 week vacation to this guy blooming; my plant sitters did good!!! This is my first bulbophyllum to bloom out of my batch of bulbos that got their roots eaten off in The Great Snail Invasion of 2015. I thought I was going to loose the plant by the time it was down to only 2 pbulbs from the original 9. But recover it did, and what a cool bloom. Highly textured and fluorescent in color, the only crappy part was that a fly got stuck in the hinged lip (see picture #4...) and killed off the flower pretty rapidly. I’m just thrilled it has recouped, though! There is hope yet for my other ones!

I have very few Bulbophyllum. Their flowers are so bizarre they are appealing!

It’s finally growing in more than one direction and I actually got two flowers this year! Unfortunately they were just starting to open when I went out of town for a work conference. By the time I got home, flies had already demolished the flowers
I need to make an insect screen box to put these stinkers in. Same thing happened with my Bulbo Wilber Chang last month lol
