Spike or Growth
Default Spike or Growth

Hi I am new too keeping Bulbophyllums I have a BiColor. I got it in Oct 2016. It has not done much for me but I did give it fresh Moss and have been keeping it warmer and wetter. SO it is happy. I don't think it is happy enough to spike but I don't know.

At first I thought it was new Growth but as it got longer It looked more like a spike that my other orchids give off. But I know Bulbophyllums are different from the others I keep.

First growth I noticed.

Now this is growing too.

Hard to say, but any time my bulbos have a little nub like that it turns into a new growth. Time will tell.

I am often disappointed, but then remind myself than new growths are better than flowers. Maybe. I dunno, I'm not the best at convincing myself of that.

New growths are good, anyway!
