I don't think many orchids (save those Estation Seca mentioned) can go with lower than 30% humidity. And many of the people here who are beginners with a few phals really do not have those unusual types. I always tend to look at where they come from. Especially in the case of bulbos where very little hybridization has happened, and so the conditions should be similar to their origin.

Also I would say yes to your question. If the root zone stays damp. It would be better to get a cool air ultrasonic humidifier, or at least spray them once or twice per day.

Sorry it has been a long long time since I looked at this. I would say if the root zone is moist, the leaves do not need to be kept moist. I have been having good luck with totally saturated spag moss. Never let it dry out.

Noting Hybrid vigor, I think Medusa herself might less sturdy. These are hybrids, not species plants, thus probably more or less bred with appropriateness to temperate "houses." (Not sure, didn't ask).

I know if I mess up just once in their care, they may die. They could never grow without human care/ monitoring in my environment.
