My first Bulbo to have gotten to bloom. So very exiting to me. Of course I only have 2 Bulbo's It's in a 4 inch basket and has 3 spikes. I thought I had blasted it as the spike tends to start to turn yellow as it grows. I thought it had blasted and then I saw the other 2 just starting. The first picture is of it the day before it completely opened. I took pictures then the next day yesterday it was open. I detect a bit of a smell not good not bad.

I put it a bit more light this spring because of a discussion on this board and I keep it setting in a saucer of water.

Looks good, congratulations. It reminds me of a nest full of chicks waiting to be fed.

Gorgeous! I have one that's been with m for 6 years at least. Have never had it bloom for me.

Thank you. Sorry I have only had mine a little over a year, I guess I'm lucky. How much light does it get?

Hi,

The lighting has been a challenge since I like to keep it in my terrariums, but as of the last few weeks I have been keeping it very near to the top of my terrarium where it is receiving the same light as my blooming tropical rhododendron. Crossing my fingers.

Yes you should. It is really my hubby's orchid. I thought I might get him interested if it was a strange bloom. He did show a bit of interest by saying oh it is weird. I think that's as good as it's going to get. At least he doesn't get upset at me

I'll cross mine for you as well. I did move mine to where it gets a little morning sun. I guess I will really not know if that was it or it was just ready to bloom any way. But it could have helped. I can't remember who was having this discussion on here but they were saying that Bulbo's take more light than one thinks. So I am trying to give my 2 a little more.
