Bulbophyllum purpurascens
This is a first bloom of a small plant that I acquired last year from Kawamoto Orchid Nursery in Honolulu. The plant is growing on a thin hapuu slab placed in a 4-inch wooden basket. The plant is growing in a shady area and watered daily. This was not the easiest flower to photograph as the flower kept bouncing with the wind.

Update
The plant is blooming again two months later with five spikes of flowers. The plant is growing on a slab of hapuu that is placed horizontally in a wood basket. When I purchased the plant, the plant attached to the hapuu slab was hung vertically on a fence at the nursery. I found the plant was drying out too fast in my growing area when I hung it vertically.
