Fascinating!

Would like to study it up close one day; destined not to own one, however.

So, how bad is the smell and has it been consistently smelly?

Love this plant! I have seen it in bloom at a friend's and I don't think the stink was as bad as I thought it would be. Although, if you ask my husband he wouldn't agree with me and had to leave the greenhouse because it bothered him so badly.

I agree with nikki, the flower does smell rancid, like stinky armpits and poop, but I can handle it because I know that it is just a floral fragrance with no harmful germs or bacteria. If I smelled the same odor coming out of the refrigerator, however, it could make me sick.
