If the roots get tangled up in the sack, you can either just leave them that way when you repot, or cut the sack around the roots... if some cloth stays around the root, no problem, just leave it - trash the sack not the roots.

Not sure how long they grow, mine are pretty short, the plant is a rambler. So pot should be wider than deep. I like shallow bulb pans, but basket is fine too, just wind the new grows around as they extend to keep it in a reasonable footprint. If you can maintain a mounted plant with sufficient moisture, that's another approach that can work nicely.
