Bulbophyllum dearei - Oh pleeease be a spike!
I've only had this bulbophyllum dearei for a few months, so I can't be sure, but these little protrusions look a little spike-like to me. I'm so impatient... can anyone tell me what these could be?

It looks like a new growth to me. No just kidding, I think it's a spike, too!

Squeee! This is the worst part for me... I'm always so worried I'll do something wrong and lose the flower before I get to see it. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

No doubt about it anymore; these are spikes! I thought I'd post a follow-up in case anyone is interested in how this plant's spike progresses. I'll post pictures once they bloom. This is my first bulbophyllum and I'm pretty enthralled by it so far. I got this plant as a division for $5 in March and never imagined I'd see a spike so soon... Let alone two!

So at this point, I'm thinking this orchid was mislabeled when I purchased it. The flower spike is developing into something that looks like a head of wheat or grass, not at all like the pictures of bulbophyllum dearei spikes I'm seeing on the internet.
I'm kind of disappointed, but also very curious as to what this guy will turn out to be... I will keep you posted.

A spike update on the now unknown bulbophyllum. Starting to see some purple blushing on what seems to be a multi-flowering stalk. Lordy I hope it's not a stinker!

That's kind of exciting, congrats on your bulbo spikes. Im excited to see how it turns out! My bulbo hasn't wanted to bloom now for 2 years since I divided it.
