Bulbophyllum sumatranum
This is a plant that I obtained from the late Wilbur Chang. The plant is a very robust grower under shady and damp conditions. The plant is growing in New Zealand Sphagnum Moss. This plant has been divided numerous times. The flowers which sprout from the base of the bulb will last about one week.

I'm a small backyard grower in a residential area overlooking Pearl Harbor. I barely have enough yard space to keep my orchids happy. Most of the photographs that I post on this Board are of plants that I raised and bloomed. My best friends are orchid people.

Those are fantastic, Mel. Really quite lovely blooms. And it doesn't look to be as much of a rambler as many other members of the genus.

Hello. My names Alex, I'm new to the forum so sorry if this questions been answered probably a thousand times. Anyway I have a sumatranum with roughly 12-14 bulbs so it's decent size and it's crazy healthy. I've had no problems with it in 2 years. New roots all the time and no spotting on leaves or bulbs. But it's never thrown up one flower. I've changed lighting to try to coax one but nope! I refuse to give up at this point, il die before I stop trying for this one. That being said I'd like it sooner than later so any advice that works or at least a very strong guess would be super appreciated. Thanks

It's sumatranum "very berry" if that helps
