Default Bulbophyllum saurocephalum

It's quite a wonderful surprise and quite a sight to see the unusual spikes of this Philippine native extending out from among its tight growth of bulbs and leaves. The individual flowers are tiny with a very light mushroom scent. I am lucky to have two spikes this flowering cycle.
I inherited this mounted, so I didn’t dare repot it. The new set of roots have already accustomed itself to the wood. I give this a culture of intermediate to warm temperature with lots of humidity placed on the west facing window feeding it with k-Lite fertilizer weekly weakly alternated with seaweed mix. This is an early blooming for this orchid plant, since I was expecting it to flower in mid-June.

Awesome, Bud! These remind me of little mouths, like my lilacinum. It's just a fascinating plant!

And as always, I love your post and photos! Thanks for sharing.

Sauro cephalum -- head of the lizard. It actually does look like a bunch of little lizards, some with closed mouths, some with open.
