Default Bulbophyllum plumatum First Bloom

This little flower popped out without any announcment....wasn't expecting this from such a seemingly immature plant!

Congrats! That's an unusually dark flower for plumatum or is just me?

I thouht it was on the "dark side" as well. I was happy to see the blood red coloration.

Very nice! Doesn't look totally open yet but should be within a day or two. These can be very floriferous when they get bigger, this is definitely in my top 5 favorite bulbophyllums.

This type was segregated out as Bulb. treschii in 2012; the true plumatum is a bit paler in color with smoother-textured and somewhat shorter sepals.

Wow, this is new and engageing information about this bulbo. Not surprising though, since I just started getting to know these. Every day there's a new twist.
