Bulbo Phalenopsis Impulse Buy
Walking through the Orchid Show in Coral Gables and turned the corner to see this huge Bulbo mount with one of its leaves nearly dragging the floor. The leaf was close to 4 ft long. The nice lady at the booth told me she had one at home that was taller than her and I'm thinking she was at least 5 ft tall. She told me how she cared for it... didn't seem too bad to me. I took one she had for sale. I went there with a list and this was not on it.

Good luck, these guys get really to cosmic size, would love it but no space for this gigantus at my balcony. May I ask what orchid show there was now? I guess I missed this one, planning to go next month to one in Fairchild Gardens:-)

Just looking at the plant itself, it is so beautiful. I had one blooming right now. Except for the smell of the flowers, the other negative side is the longest leave of this plant. The leave tip appear to be susceptible from physical damage. I remember accidentally stepping on one of the leave of the plant when Im carrying it. Because this plant is too long and too heavy to carry around. Tall people should have no problem about it.

Neat! Will be quite big, but I understand why you got it. I just have no space for something like that. Good luck.

I've got other 2 species of the macrobulbon section (orthosepalum and fletcherianum). They need a lot of humidity, more light than other Bulbos and, of course.. SPACE
Inflorescence is weird, beautiful, but smells like rotten meat.
