I have and enjoy this plant. Both the red and the normal. Great and under appreciated bulbophyllum
I am not experimenting with a five bulb cutting in my terrarium. It will be way at the top and I expect quite happy but I was thinking I’d ask if anyone else is growing this plant and how and what your thoughts are
None of the above posters appear active anymore so maybe new thoughts

I'm glad you did. I really enjoy ORCHIDBOARD, but really don't spend the time I would like to spend on this site. Usually (because of limited time) I am more of a 'glancer' - glancing at the recent posts and opening a thread that sparks my interest. I would have not noticed this thread - if not being near the top of the first page in the
Bulbophyllum Alliance section.
I strongly agree... this plant is great, and under appreciated! I also agree with an above poster's comments regarding blooms in late August/September.
I have been growing this species out from a flask of seedlings for quite some time now (just the regular form of
B. lasiochilum). I too, notice they bloom like clockwork every year around this time. I have a couple in flower now. They are grown in terrariums under LEDs. Only measurements of light that I can provide is: medium bright. Warm temperatures year round, RH around 70-80%, watered on a regular schedule (which for me is around every 5-6 days with my growing conditions), lightly fertilized bi-weekly, and good air circulation. I grow mine on mounts.
A few pictures from about a half hour ago.
One just beginning to flower
