This was sold to me as Bulbo. sp. "Rosary Beads". I have it lying in a clump of moss on the bottom of my case. It has a faint sweet fragrance. I would say the name comes from the pseudobulbs rather than the flower. What do you think?
Great photos! I have one of these too and I can't even see, much less photograph, the blooms with such lovely detail.
As I think was suggested in another thread, this is probably Bulb. alagense or a close relative. I got mine very obviously incorrectly labeled (neither alagense nor 'rosary beads') from a certain vendor who sells plants under all 3 names, and AFAICT his are all the same thing!
If only our orchid species came with a copy of its genome. Give it another 20 years.
This one I purchased from Al's Orchids in Leesburg VA. He had another one on a mount, from Black Jungle Terrarium supply, labeled "Rosary Beads yellow" I wish I could see its flowers. I have nothing to compare mine to. It certainly looks like alagense. I wonder if those flowers also carry a sweet fragrance. For all I know they are one in the same.
