Default My Photo of Carolina Orchids

Here is the picture I promised.

All the colored labels are ones which I make myself. I color code the different genra with different color labels or different color tape.

I like to be able to know what it is, even if it is in the back of a tray, just by the color...and the label tapes don't fade.

I see Tom and Shan each year at the Redlands in Homestead. When they came to the Volusia County Orchid Society to speak (by the way, one of the best speakers we've had), one thing he wanted was to go bass fishing, so we did. Hooked a gator and a mudfish, but alas, no bass that time. I have purchased multiple orchids from him; coelogynes, large cattleyas, and of course multiple bulbos. I actually sent him loads of cash, and listed what I had, and had him send me stuff I did not have. Overall, I would say that they are top notch people, and I can't wait till christmas, because my wife said that we can order another load from them for my present! Just gotta go out there and update my list, as alas, my greenhouse was on auto pilot all summer, and not evertything is still green. At least the work difficulty that caused this is (hopefully) passed, and next year I can focus much more time on repotting, and the other hands on stuff that a greenhouse requires!

With the help/recommendation of another well known OB member I ordered an Aeranthes ramosa from Carolina Orchids. They were great to work with! Sadly this was one of those beginner spur of the moment purchases that I just had to have because it looked cool. I had know idea what I was doing with it and killed it. Ahhh learning lessons. Perhaps again someday I'll give it another try!

They are still doing quality work, I just received an order, Tom was great, orchids were packed so they couldn't move if they wanted too. Plants were in great shape and larger than expected. Extremely pleased with Carolina Orchids.
