Default For a 55gallon growout what lighting

Hi I was wondering what is some good lighting for a 55 gallon bulbo tropical growout tank? Also Is there a good way to set it up?

I'm curious. What do you mean by a tropical growout bulbo tank? Sounds interesting.

Bulbos don't need lots of light. I personally use t5 florescent tubes with bulbos located approx 16-18" below tubes. Depending on design of your tank, you could raise a floor of some sort to achieve this spacing. I use 4 ea 48" t5 florescents for approx 500-750 FCs at plant height.

Drandma m what I mean is take a 55 gal aquarium and get a glass lid for it and some lights so I can keep tropicals, where I live it is too dry to keep them outside of a vivarium.

55w Compact Fluorescent Lamp I also use 4 foot t5 florescent bank on my orchidarium, but these will suffice for your needs. I use three of them and they are great.

I use one of these 4-tube fixtures above my orchidarium .: Sunlight Supply - horticulture and aquarium lighting systems :. Website The small compact ones (3 of them) are upstairs in my bay window to supplement natural light.
