Bulbophyllum dearei
Hi all,
I rarely get to post anything in this subforum. I have a few bulbos, but have rotten luck getting them to flower.
But not today. Today my Bulbophyllum dearei has bloomed. This is its first successful bloom while its been in my care since 2006. It had attempted to bloom once in 2008 but failed. Finally I get to see my plant in bloom. Hope you all like it as much as I do.
I grow this in a 29 gallon vertically oriented aquarium. The aquarium has been converted into a terrarium for epiphytes. This plant grows directly on a foam background that has been covered in a thin layer of peat for aesthetics. I spray it 4-6 times a week and it grows under two 65 watt 6500K CF light bulbs.
