BRAVO!!! It's beautiful and looks like a high-tech spacecraft ! Very hard to bloom as well (even in the tropics). wonder what's your secret.

Hey Tin, yours is beautiful. It has more purple markings on the petals than mine which I really like and a lighter yellow color overall. For comparison this is a picture of mine that finished about a month ago. Now that I look at the picture, not my best photo.

Thanks!!!!
It does remind me very much of a spacecraft. I was even thinking I could draw one based on the design of the flowers. I know, nerdy.

Now I don't feel so bad about it having taken so long to bloom for me. I had no idea this was supposed to be a difficult species.
Like I stated in my first post, it is kept in a terrarium. It is about 10 inches away from the two 65 watt 6500K cfl light source. I hand spray once a day 4-6 times a week. I also add a little miracle grow once a month to the spray bottle, which means it gets sprayed with miracle grow water for about 3 days in a row (until it runs out). Ventilation is coming from a computer fan that turns on mid day for an hour, and then for a couple of hours at night.

Nice bloom, good markings. Did you do anything different to finally get it to bloom? Gotta love the bulbos!

Not sure which one of us you are asking, but for me, I got it from a local grower here in Michigan who probably got it from someone else. I'm sure if you do a search, you'll find them out there.
