Bulbophyllum Phalaenopsis!!!!!!
I am super excited because of what happened today. I got the bulbophyllum phalaenopsis that I have had my eye on for the past couple of weeks. I kept hinting to my mom that I wanted it and she finally took me. When I first spotted it, I only noticed one new growth, but it turns out that it has 3 new growths. Two of which are prominent and the other is just starting. I can't wait to watch it grow and bloom for the first time which will probably be a few years from now. Anyways, here are some pictures of my new baby.
First new growth
Second new growth
Final new growth
Me standing beside the plant for size
Plant next to a ruler. The leaves are over a foot long.

Very young one, but it looks nice and healthy. Enjoy the smell of poo when it blooms.

A couple of weeks ago, I bought a seedling Bulbophyllum phalaenopsis which has been out of flask for about a year now. The longest leaf is about a 1 1/2 long. My big plant is a giant compared to the seedling.
The greenhouse I bought it from had about 10 more plants one of which was not for sale. The longest leaf was about 3 feet long and he told me that it hadn't bloomed yet. He also told me that he had bought about 12 plants, but divided some of them making them cheaper. I bought mine for $60. There were some bigger plants at the same price, but I like the way my plant is shaped, plus I don't have the room for a bigger one.
