Default Bulbo Wilbur Chang

This bud has taken eight weeks to open, was completely closed yesterday. Seven inches from tip to tip, deep red tongue wags in the breeze.

8 weeks!! Thats a whole two months, my God!! Very nice, worth the wait. Hope it stays up 8 weeks.

Been looking at this one online. I have echinolabium. P U, but very pretty and huge flower. It was 12.5 from tip to tip.

I wonder if the other parent shrank the bloom a bit. Mine is a first bloom on this division. I saw it described as smelling like rotting meat with pepper corn. Quite accurate in the description.

I was going to say that just by the look of that lip this 'chid must smell terrible! And the parents are definitely stinkers!
