Default Doris Duke Cross

This is called melting Point" it is great. Real curling tail of about three inches, twin blooms, looks about like there will be 8 blooms in all. I'll have to guard it till they open so my grasshopper doesn't see it, he'll think it's a candy cane.

The rest of the blooms look like they are going to be straighter, could this be a under developed bloom?

Carol - That definitely is not the way that Bulb Melting Point flowers normally open. I have never seen one with curled flowers. Is there any insect damage to the flowers that could have caused the curling effect?

Hey Carol, where did you get this plant... definitely neat and if the other flowers "appear" to be opening straight, I would agree with you that the curls are unique to this flower. I've seen pictures of other plants and the flowers are "the usual" type from the other parent, longissimum 'Windy Hill'. Whatever it is, the flower color is definitely very nice!
