Bulb. Jim Clarkson Sleeps at Night
Beautiful during the day, this Bulbophyllum sleeps at night. The top photo was taken at 1:30 PM. The bottom photo was taken at 9:30 PM. The flowers perk back up in the morning.

I'm a small backyard grower in a residential area overlooking Pearl Harbor. I barely have enough yard space to keep my orchids happy. Most of the photographs that I post on this Board are of plants that I raised and bloomed. My best friends are orchid people.

Bulbophyllum Jim Clarkson (Bulbophyllum lobbii X Bulbophyllum claptonense) is a wonderful cross made by AOS Judge Bill Thoms (the King of Bulbophyllums) in 2003. Bill named the cross after his good friend and fellow AOS Judge Jim Clarkson who sadly passed away last year. I have seen many siblings from this cross and I have never seen one the color of yours, it's stunning. Would you mind if I shared your photo with Bill THoms?
