Default Bulb. phalaenopsis JC/AOS

I am so excited, my friend Dan just received a JC/AOS on his Bulb phalaenopsis for a new color variation. I am even more excited that he is giving me a division.

Very cool, glengary! I've seen a few pictures of this color form before, it's quite special. A division of this is a very nice gift, these are going to sell for a pretty penny when they become more widely available...

There is a funny story behind the gift of the division. My friend Dan was going to give me the whole plant, he was disappointed that the color on the flowers hadn't colored up and become dark like he had seen in others. He had no idea what he had. If I hadn't seen the flowers and made him take it to judging, he wouldn't have gotten the award.

You're a good friend, some people probably would have just accepted the whole plant and taken it to judging themselves... I saw some close-up photos of the flowers on another plant of this color, it really shows off the bizarre details better than the typical dark red form does.
