This is a plant that I obtained from Wilbur Chang in Kaneohe, Hawaii. It is grown in a 3-1/4 inch plastic pot with New Zealand sphagnum moss as the media. The flowers has a vertical length of 7 inches. The inflorescence has four flowers.

What a gorgeous bloom! I'm interested to see it blooming with only two leaves as I have a very small one and thought it had a long, long way to go! Mine is in a net pot in tree fern but so far seems to be doing OK.

Beautiful, Mel! That looks like a very nice clone (which I guess could be expected coming from Wilbur Chang). Thanks for sharing!

Shirley, I have a couple of small (3-4 PBs) divisions of this species that are both in spike. Given the area I'm growing these in and the timing of the spikes, I suspect there's a temperature cue involved in bringing on the blooms (the room they're in has been experiencing nights in the mid-50s for a few weeks).
