Hi Teresa, Just today I received a Cirr.rothschildianum 'Red Chimney' x Cirr. Elizabeth Ann Buckelberry' in the mail as a gift from a dear friend.
I had never seen one in my life! The spike has two blooms but I can see the shipping took a toll on the plant. Questions: Where do you get NZ Sphagnum moss? Around the base of the pseudobulb not spiked (there are two) is very darkish color and seems to be above the moss. Does that sound like a problem? I don't dare pull it out of the pot as it has been through enough. It was somewhat wet but I gave it a good drink. The paper I got with it said to use "clean water" but I use tap water (dug well) for all my plants and that seems to be okay. Is it with this one too???? It's in a 4" regular green pot with moss. It also recommends Green Jungle Orchid Food. Where do I get all this stuff?
I saw that you had them so I thought I would give you a shout. This is a very unusual plant for me. Thanks for any help you can give me. kiki-do
