Megacliniums aren't super hard to find in the US (though purpureorhachis is still one of the rarer ones) but they usually do cost more than other Bulbophyllums! Of course, you probably have easier access to some of the very lovely Taiwanese Cirrhopetaloides that are almost impossible to find here in the US (at least for me so far...).

There are about twenty native bulbophyllum species here in Taiwan. Most of them are from highlands, which makes them not easy plants to grow well in summer.
And maybe due to this reason, the bulbophyllums are still abundant in the wild.
