Default Bulbophyllum longissimum

Lots of first blooms from my plants this season. This guy produced three, two on one spike and one on another. The color is a bit more pink/orange than others I've seen. Total flower length is about ten inches.

Thanks for looking!

Very cool! I really like the little purple hairs and the fact that each flower is 10"!

Well... change of name. This was sold to me as B. longissimum, but after looking at tons of pics on the Internet, I'm thinking it's actually Cirr. Elizabeth Ann 'Buckleberry.' Any other Bulbo nuts concur? Gotta love shopping on eBay. Dang.

I'm not sure, but I don't think I can recall my B. longissimum having those crazy hairs (which bring to mind B. putidum (or M. putidum, or whatever), and I believe mine was more of a corona of flowers, if that's the right word- maybe three or five flowers spread out from the terminus of the spike.

Awfully pretty flowers you've got there, though.

Awesome. Proving once again that Bulbos have the most amazing blooms!

Mine just finished blooming last week and I don't recall any purple hairs. The color is about right maybe a bit more pinkish like you said but no hairy crown. Yours is cute though.

Mine is just starting to spike, but I don't recall it having purple on it, or having hairs. I'll have to go back and look at last years photos to see what I can expect!

Cirr. Elizabeth Ann 'Buckleberry' was originally registered as a Bulbophyllum in 1969; its parents being longissimus x rothschildianum. There is also a Cirr EA 'Jean' which looks similar. Longissimus, as the name implies is very long, thin and a lighter rose color while rothschildianum is shorter and deeper red. This is my Cirr. EA 'Buckleberry' from last year. Whatever you want to call it, I'd call yours a real beauty!
