Its weird that the back cross imparted that much red into it. Definitely seems like an improvement.

Those are actually some of the best echinolabium photos I've seen. Great fly pictures!! And the form and colour of the flower looks enticing to me. Maybe I was a fly in a past life. I love flowers that stink. I had Stapelias bloom for me and didn't find it so bad. Even took a good whif of on in the wild, didn't get offended. Maybe my smeller isn't that good.
