Default Bulb. frostii spiking?

Is that a spike? I would only imagine it is, because its completely different from what an immature psuedobulb looks like, it also has the sheathed look that spikes usually have, from the few orchids i've seen flower. Im really new to orchids, but i guess i have somewhat of a greenthumb, as i dont kill much. Anyways i guess since this is a spring bloomer, its getting ready to put out that flower in spring? i thought it was a fall and spring bloomer, but from what that huge orchid website says, its spring.

Thanks for letting me know, and check out my gallery, i just got a camera and posted what few nicely potted plants i have. I got alot of pots that im about to drill drainage holes in this week, and will repot alot. So check back.

well... that really looks like a new leaf... a spike should be a lot thiner, and should not open the way this is doing...

By the way, what are the other plants in the same pot?

That's new growth, not a spike but, still a good thing. A lot of Bulbo growth will be elongated and somewhat similar looking to spikes, only to unfold into leaves. Spikes on most Bulbos are very, very thin and once you see the difference, there's no mistaking them. These can bloom any time of year so long as the conditions are met.

Well thats good that its at least growing, and doing it somewhat quickly i guess. It willl have to wait for there correct conditions till i get my paludarium set up, which is waiting for one last or 2 more things, some stuff to sculpt rocks and a stand so i can set it up with my false bottom and sump tank.

About the other plants with it, there is a few clumps of Bulb. moniliforme, 2 hanging on Poly. lindenii, Lemmaphyllum microphyllum (epiphytic fern with round leaves), another unknown fern that stays very small that i found in the greenhouse at school, sphagnum moss, and about 3 other mosses.

Plus there are 3 azurite mineral rocks
