The species is only found in Sri Lanka and Taiwan.
In Taiwan, the wild groups dwell in tropical monsoon forests and hence in real cultivation, it is an easy plant to take care.

Wow, what a cool flower! Thanks for sharing these. So I am assuming they require a dry rest period, or at least they are adapted to take survive long dry rest periods.

Tindomul, the habitats have a distinct dry period but both countries the species dwell in are islands. So unlike most continent species, it does not like too dry condition because the sea wind usually brings the wild plants good humidity.
