Default I'm soo frustrated, Bulb dearei aborted bloom.

My Bulb. dearei, which has been in bud all month long, and the bud was growing and growing and growing, and finally I thought it was about to bloom a few days ago. Then I walked in this morning to find that the peduncle, the flower stalk, was rotted!! ROTTED!!!
What the heck happened! What did I do wrong? I have not changed condition in the vivarium, water in the morning, dries out at night. I just don't understand. And this was the first bloom for this orchid since I got it.

Next time cut back on water while in bud This will help stop the rot.

What a bummer. Sorry to hear this. The first thought that came to mind was that possibly water got trapped in the bud, itself. Also, I think that when the overall size of the plant is still small, that watering/how much can be a little tricky with bulbos. I know that they love their watering but some, not all, really need to dry out between waterings which, I don't think is the reason why your bud rotted...it wouldn't have gotten this far, otherwise...just a little preventive measures to pass on for in the future.

These are such prolific growers Tindo, you'll have more buds in no time but still, a bummer for now.
