I sorta, kinda went on a buying binge on Bulbo's last week. Don't tell my fiancee.
So here is what I got.
Two I got from RSS on this board,
One I got from Clackamass Orchids Inc, on ebay
and 4 from Sandstone Orchids and Nursery L.L.C.
The pics are in this order B. blumei in bud! B. lobbii 'Kathy's Gold' x B. dearei 'Red'.which I think I have already, not sure B. siamense
B. sikkimensis
B. corolliferum
Sunipia bicolor
Not pictured is B. wendlandianum which I have growing at home.
So wish me luck with these. I'm gonna need it!! Most are seedlings.
Tindo, today I had to think of you... I just came back from the monthly meeting of the Orchids Society of Basel, where I had the honour to meet the prior president of the Swiss Orchid Society. At the beginning I must admit I did not like the man, as it started a big fight with everybody... then I was looking at the plants he brought to the show, and he came to me "quite aggressive" and asked what I was looking at, but then he found out I used to live in Venezuela... well... surprise... he was in the 80's in Venezuela, in the region where my parents live, and we have common friends... he even knew some members of my family... he was so happy to meet me, that he just got a plant from the box and gave it to me: "you said you are building a Vivarium... this is a perfect plant for you..." and now I own a Bulbophyllum ambrosia I not even knew about this species
I have one but cannot flower it! It grows well and I have taken at least two divisions off of it and given them to friends but so far none of us have flowered it. I have seen photos of it (possibly on Haru's page or on the University of Vienna website) and it looks a pretty Bulbophyllum. Good luck with yours.
