Nice haul Tindo!
I know it'll be a while, but you'll have to post pics when your binge bulges and blooms!

Tindomul,
I looked for an icon "tongue in cheek" to reply to your message but did not really find one!
In my youth (Oh! so long ago ) Cliff Richard sang a song, the words of which went "Son you are a bachelor boy and that's the way to stay". So if you think that it is bad now wait until you have tied the knot and have the ring through the nose then you will NOT be able to even think of buying any orchids let alone Bulbos!

Tindomul, that terrible disease (Bulbo buyitis ) has spread to Africa and has infected me. Today on the way home from picking my daughter and grandkids up from the airport in Durban I stopped off to pick up 13 Bulbo plants that I had ordered some time back.Luckily I had the grandkids and daughter to act as a diversionary measure because my wife was too occupied with them to ask about the plants and what they cost!
The plants that I got were Bulbos cauliflorum, cornu-cervi, cylindraceum, gamblei, leopardinum, listeri and Cirrhopetalums caudatum, maculosum, sarcophyllum, cornutum, caespitosum, breviceps and botanense. I ordered them through a grower here who was going to import from India because I do not have any of them and hence know nothing about them. Any comments/help would be appreciated.

Nice list. I am not familiar with any, other than the name. But I would suggest you buy Emily Seigerist's book on Bulbos. Hope I spelled her name right. Good luck with those, thats a major HAUL!!!

On the other hand Tindomul, an old time grower had this advice; "when at an orchid show never buy more orchids than your wife can carry home on the plane!!!!

Hi all, the Bulbo buying binge busted. I recieved my last plant, Bulbophyllum masdevalliaceum. Its small, has one leaf and two pseudobulbs. Hopefully I can get it to bloom some day. Wish me luck once again!

Tindo, today I had to think of you... I just came back from the monthly meeting of the Orchids Society of Basel, where I had the honour to meet the prior president of the Swiss Orchid Society. At the beginning I must admit I did not like the man, as it started a big fight with everybody... then I was looking at the plants he brought to the show, and he came to me "quite aggressive" and asked what I was looking at, but then he found out I used to live in Venezuela... well... surprise... he was in the 80's in Venezuela, in the region where my parents live, and we have common friends... he even knew some members of my family... he was so happy to meet me, that he just got a plant from the box and gave it to me: "you said you are building a Vivarium... this is a perfect plant for you..." and now I own a Bulbophyllum ambrosia I not even knew about this species
