Susanne got an e-mail from administrators that Matt had posted the above reply. Checked out the previous discussion on the thread and being bored and lethargic on this hot and dry summers Saturday morning (temp outside 36C and still rising slightly
) I decided to sit at my computer and surf the net. According to ipni.org Bulbophyllum sumatranum Garay, Hamer & Siegerist 1996 was originally called Bulbophyllum lobbii var breviflorum by J.J. Smith. According to Kew Monocotyledon List Bulbophyllum sumatranum is a synonym for Bulbophyllum lobbii. So you were quite right but here is the interesting thin. Go to the Kew Monocotyledon List and type in the names (start with Bulbophyllum lobbii) and there is a field where you can click on a webiste that shows all the photos of the species on the Internet. Then enter Bulbophyllum sumatranum in the field that you can initiate a search. It is amazing to see the variaition in the species. Do that and I am sure that you will enjoy all the excellent photos.
