Looking for Bulbo Allies
Does anyone know of a source for Pedilochilus plants? Or Hapalochilus? I found them in the back of Emly Siegerist's book and would really like to find sources for them. Also does anyone know of a wholesale source for bulbo's, I'm even willing to import if necessary.
Thanks,
Dallas

Hi,
I was just wondering the exact same thing. I've spent the last 2 hours looking online for things like Sunipia, Rhytionanthus, Hapalochilus! I got the interest also from Emily Siegerist's book!!!
But I did find a wholesaler, however, HOWEVER, minimum purchase of $200!!!! So, it would not really be worth it unless we could get a bunch of us together and buy them together. Hmmm, we might actually be able to do that? Hmmmmmmmmm
Here is the website, which I found today! Lets organize something! I would like to ask them if they carry any other genus besides Bulbophyllum

I found the nt site but most of those can be found domestically for the same price or less. Not really wholesale, what i'm curious about though it that Meen Nursery claims to grow the allies and NT is supposed to be their distributor but I do not see any listed. Oak Hill does not have bulbo's on their wholesale list, though they do give a bulk discount when you purchase multiples of 5 I believe.. not really a wholesale though. I know Tom Nasser of Carolina Orchids has alot as well but I didn't see any of the rare and or oddities on his list. $200 isn't really an issue to me if I can find enough of the plants I want, because I know I could resale them and recoup the price. I've spent half that on 1 plant before.

Thats true, thats why I suggested I would ask them if they had any of the rarer genera.

I can make you a super sweet deal on some bulbos... I have a lot that I need to get rid of, I need the space more than I need the plants. You'd need to drive up to Lansing to get them though.
Was supposed to be at an orchid show selling this weekend but the stupid car broke down. Fixing the car would be easy if I had the cash from being at the orchid show... *grrrr*

I bought a few flasks from Meen Nursery over ebay, primary bulbo hybrids. USPO lost the box, totally their fault not Meen's, and a person named Phongsawat has been nothing but helpful to me in dealing with all of it. I still managed to get the box after a couple of weeks and a small few plants survived. I must say if you can deal with Meen Nursery, I've been totally pleased.

I might be interested in some of those bulbos Littlefrog. I can provide you with a list if you like just let me know but I probably won't get to Lansing until spring show season. (I live in Columbus, OH) Maybe I'll get with meen and see what they can do come spring.. weather is going to get a bit risky to be getting long distance shipments cheap, quick and safe. You never know what the weather is going to be like in Ohio in Fall/Winter and I would hate to have them delayed because of some freak storm. I just would like to track them down so I can make arrangements for next spring.

Well, I thought Meen Nursery focuses on Thai orchids, while the Hapalochilus and Pedilochilus are all from New Guinea.
There is one possible Hapalochilus on ebay right now.
