Oh, and I use the normally sold urea free concentrated water soluble fertilizers that are as close to 20-20-20 as possible. Plants grow and bloom just fine.
All the bulbs except for one are shriveled. I have been misting the plant. The leaves are quite long. The piece of bark it is mounted on is about 5" x 6". And thank you, "King of Orchid Growing" ,for the info you so generously passed on. I sure hope it makes it!! I will be checking on my new baby constantly. ruthann
Mistking
Looking for a misting system? Look no further. Automated misting systems from MistKing are used by multitude of plant enthusiasts and are perfect for Orchids. Systems feature run dry pumps, ZipDrip valve, adjustable black nozzles, per second control! Automatically mist one growing shelf or a greenhouse full of Orchids.
If the mounted plant doesn't already have moss covering the roots. Or if the moss is crusty and looks like it needs to be removed because it's breaking down, I would put new moss over the roots.
Water everyday. You can get away with this during the spring/summer. Cut back during the fall and winter.
It would help the plant to initiate a flower spike if it received a 10 degree F to 20 degree F temperature difference between day and night.
